Malaysia Short-Term Employment Programme (MySTEP)

The Malaysia Short-Term Employment Programme (MySTEP) is a government initiative that offers short-term (contract) employment opportunities across various ministries, government agencies, Government-Linked Companies (GLCs), Government-Linked Investment Companies (GLICs), and strategic industry partners. Its aim is to enhance employability and accelerate job placement for Malaysians.

Key Features

• Duration: Minimum of 1 month, up to a maximum of 12 months
• Eligibility: Open to Malaysian citizens aged 18 years and above, with various qualifications such as SPM, Diploma, STPM, or Degree
• Contract & Salary: Based on the offered placement, with a minimum salary of RM1,700

The MyTax portal is an official digital platform developed by the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (IRBM) to facilitate tax affairs for Malaysians.

This portal brings together various online tax services under a single portal to improve access, transparency, and efficiency of the country's tax system.

Among the main functions:

  Fill in and submit Income Tax Return Forms online

  Register tax numbers for new taxpayers
• e-Payment
  Make income tax payments, information tax, property gains tax, and so on

  Monthly Tax Deduction (PCB) Review and management

The Rahmah Basic Contribution (SARA) is a government initiative to help the poor and hardcore poor obtain basic necessities.

It is an extension of STR and is implemented in collaboration with Yayasan MyKasih using a cashless system via MyKad.

Eligible Recipients:

• Hardcore poor/poor (STR recipients with eKasih records)
• Non-hardcore poor/poor (STR recipients)

Assistance Amount:

• Depending on the recipient category, up to RM2,100 per year for the extremely poor/poor
• Reference: SARA Aid Rate

Implementation Method:

• Aid credited to recipients’ MyKad
• Recipients scan MyKad at participating grocery stores/supermarkets
• Examples of Basic Goods Covered:
• • Bread, eggs, cooking oil, flour, biscuits, instant noodles, canned food, condiments
  • Personal hygiene products, household cleaning products

  • School supplies

The MADANI Medical Scheme is an initiative by the Government of Malaysia through the Ministry of Health (MOH) to support the healthcare needs of the B40 group by providing treatment for minor illnesses.

Eligibility for MADANI Medical Scheme

• STR (Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah) recipients: households, senior citizens (without partner), and singles
• Eligibility is automatic
• Beneficiaries must declare that they are not receiving similar benefits from other government agencies

Treatment covered under the scheme:

• Fever and flu
• Diarrhea and vomiting
• Sprains
• Headaches
• Minor trauma such as small wounds, etc.

Benefits amount:

• Household: RM250
• Senior citizen without partner: RM125
• Single: RM75

TABIKA KEMAS is managed by the Community Development Department (KEMAS) under the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (KKDW).

To provide quality early childhood education for children aged 4–6 years, especially in rural, remote and B40 communities.

How to Apply
