The Physical Test is conducted to ensure that appointed candidates have the appropriate physique, are healthy and physically fit. Candidates also need to be  energetic, assertive and alert.

Positions that require the Physical Test are Security Officer (Grade KP41 and KP27), Deputy Superintendent / Inspector of Prison (Grade KX41 and KX27), Kesatria Officer /Assistant (Grade S41 and S27), Fireman Superintendent / Assistant (Grade KB41 and KB29) and Investigation Officer (Grade KR3 and KR5). The Vision and Colour Recognition test is part of the Physical test.

Applicants to the Fire and Rescue Department are also tested on their physical strength and stamina.
