The Ninth Malaysia Plan states that efforts are being made to strengthen agriculture production and expand agro-based processing. Apart from grants and incentives, the Government has also taken the initiative to establish AgriBazaar. A joint effort of the Malaysian Institute of Microelectronic Systems (MIMOS) and the Department of Agriculture, AgriBazaar is an internet-based infrastructure that assists producers and suppliers promote and trade their agriculture products.

This move has certainly offered an alternative to the conventional avenues of trade in Malaysia. AgriBazaar offers better pricing, reduces buying and selling administrative cost and expedites the buying and selling process.
