Female employees are entitled to receive at least 60 consecutive days of paid maternity leave after the birth of a child. This is required under the Employment Act 1955, Section 37 to 44 (Malay version only) . Female employees are eligible for maternity allowance upon prescribed rates and qualifications under the Employment Act.
