Investing on properties has never been easier with an abundance
of options available in terms of types of properties and financing
structures.
Land or property transactions are under the jurisdiction of the
respective state governments. Property transactions are handled by
departments such as the Department of Land and Mines, Land and District
Offices as well as local authorities.
The Department of Land and Mines is responsible for land development
planning, land master registration, land data base, and land information
searches. Land and District Offices are responsible for land-related
transactions such as application, registration, subdivision, acquisition and
quit rent collection. The Local Authorities are responsible for housing
plan, certificate of fitness, house renovation, property assessment, and
property taxes.
The
Ministry of Housing and Local Government
has prepared a
guide for home buyers in its effort to
be of service to Malaysian citizens who are interested on taking this step.
