Air
Few things in life are as free as the
air we breathe. That is no longer so for companies based in countries which
have signed the
Kyoto Protocol.
As a participant, Malaysia needs to actively work at reducing carbon
emissions. This is an issue which organizations and the government need to
deal with.
However, everyone can make a difference in ensuring that less pollutants
are released into the air. These are steps that all of us can take:
Service your vehicle regularly. This will ensure that the car is
more fuel efficient (which saves you money) and also reduces the amount
of emissions released into the atmosphere.
Take public transport or car pool. This saves money on fuel and
parking.
For short trips, walk or ride a bicycle. There is added value in the
excercise conducted.
Buy cars which are more economical. They are often cheaper and you
save money on fuel.
Do not use aerosol sprays. Pump action sprays prevent the release of
harmful aerosols into the atmosphere which can decrease the ozone layer.
Prevent open burning
