The MyJPJ application, developed by the Road Transport Department Malaysia (JPJ), is not only used for digital driving licences and road tax but also enables the public to report traffic offences online.
Through this reporting feature, users can help the authorities report various road traffic offences to improve road safety and ensure compliance with traffic laws.
Thirteen (13) types of traffic offences that can be reported:
- Failure to stop at a red traffic light
- Driving in the emergency lane
- Dangerous overtaking and obstructing other vehicles from overtaking
- Overtaking on the left
- Crossing double lines
- Using a mobile phone while driving
- Non-compliant vehicle registration number plates
- Excessively tinted vehicle windows
- Failure to wear a seat belt or safety helmet
- Failure to comply with traffic signals
- Making a U-turn at a prohibited location
- Technical offences
- Commercial vehicles continuously driving in the far-right lane
A report may include:
- Vehicle registration number
- Photo or video evidence
- Location of the incident
- Date and time of the incident
- A brief description of the offence
Each report will be assessed by the Road Transport Department Malaysia (JPJ), and further action will depend on the validity of the information and supporting evidence provided.
