What is LKM?
The Motor Vehicle License (LKM), commonly called road tax, is issued by JPJ to allow vehicles to operate on public roads. Renewal can be made by the registered owner or their representative.
Conditions for Renewal:
- Active vehicle insurance (min. 1 year)
- Pass inspection at PUSPAKOM/PPKM (for certain vehicles like commercial or >10 years old)
- Not blacklisted by JPJ or PDRM
Digital Road Tax (e-LKM):
Starting in 2023, JPJ has introduced e-LKM (Digital Motor Vehicle License), replacing physical stickers.
- Accessible via MyJPJ app or MySIKAP portal.
- Not mandatory to display physical sticker (except for commercial vehicles).
