For non-Muslim couples who wish to register their marriage, the agency involved in the registration process is the National Registration Department (JPN). All non-Muslim couples are required to register their marriage with JPN.

Basic procedures:

1. Marriage registration application

Applications can be made at JPN branches according to the applicant’s MyKad address or online at the following link:

2. Notice of marriage display

After the application is made, the notice of marriage will be displayed for 21 days at JPN.

3. Marriage solemnisation

The marriage ceremony will be carried out after the 21-day period ends and not more than 6 months from the date the application is received.

For applications that exceed the 6-month validity, couples must reapply.
