PEKA B40 (Healthcare Scheme for the B40 Group) is an initiative by the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) to improve healthcare access for the low-income B40 group, especially in early detection of non-communicable diseases (NCD).
Eligibility:
- Malaysian citizens
- Aged 40 years and above
- STR (Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah) recipients or their spouses

Procedure to access PeKa B40 benefits
Step 1 :Check eligibility.
Check eligibilityStep 2 : If eligible, visit the nearest PeKa B40 Clinic
- Clinics with the PeKa B40 logo sticker
- Bring MyKad for verification
- Clinic search:
Step 3 :Health screening will be conducted during the first clinic visit
Step 4 :Second visit to review lab results with a doctor. Follow-up actions include referral to MOH facility or KKM Healthy Living Programme
Benefits of PeKa B40 Scheme [accordion]
- Benefit 1: Free health screening
Free health screening at private clinics registered with PeKa B40 which includes:
- Health history taking including health risk factors
- Mental health screening
- Physical examination
- Clinical breast examination for female recipients, and clinical prostate examination for male recipients at risk
- Blood tests and urine tests
- Benefit 2: Medical equipment assistance up to RM20,000
This benefit involves medical equipment assistance that is not subsidized by the MOH hospital.
Among the medical aids include:
- Heart stents
- Hearing aids
- Pacemakers
- Prostheses
- Wheelchairs
A health screening (Benefit 1) must be done first to obtain this benefit.
- Benefit 3: RM1,000 incentive for completing cancer treatment
This incentive is given to cancer patients from the B40 group and is broken down into two payments:
- RM300 paid after recipient starts cancer treatment
- RM700 paid after completing cancer treatment
Patients must complete a health screening (Benefit 1) first and eligibility for Benefit 3 must be confirmed by a MOH doctor or medical specialist.
- Benefit 4: Incentive transport fare
Only recipients of Benefit 2 (medical equipment assistance) or/and Benefit 3 (incentive to complete cancer treatment) will receive the benefit of this transportation fare.
Maximum amount of assistance that can be received:
- RM500 for Peninsular Malaysia
- RM1,000 for Sabah/ Sarawak/ Labuan
The amount of additional incentive is subject to the distance between the hospital and the recipient's home and at a set rate.
