As parents, especially the young ones, it is important to learn the basics of family knowledge to ensure your family is managed in harmony. The National Population and Family Development Board (LPPKN) has introduced several parenting programmes and courses such as: I'm In Control (Parents): This course aims to enhance parents’ understanding of their children’s physiological and psychosocial development. Family@Work: This course provides awareness and knowledge to parents on the importance of balancing roles between career and family. In addition to courses on the LPPKN e-Learning portal, parents can also learn family and parenting guidance through the Keluarga Bahagia Portal.
Good financial management allows families to meet daily needs, plan for the future, and be better prepared for financial challenges. LPPKN provides financial knowledge courses such as: SMARTbelanja @ LPPKN: This course raises awareness about the role and responsibility of each family member in family finances as well as knowledge to manage finances wisely.

Teenagers face unique challenges as they grow. At this stage, they are searching for identity, want independence and are easily influenced by peers and the environment, including social media and technology. The role of parents is crucial in ensuring teenagers grow in a healthy and balanced way. Through the Reproductive and Social Health Education (PEKERTI) module, LPPKN provides information and approaches to educate teenagers on health, emotions, social and behaviour. Courses provided by LPPKN: I'm In Control (Teenagers): This course equips teenagers with skills to avoid and reduce risky sexual behaviours. In addition, you can also get parenting guidance for teenagers via the Keluarga Bahagia Portal .
The Keluarga Bahagia Portal under LPPKN offers a variety of services related to family development, including professional and user-friendly counselling services. Types of counselling services offered: Marriage counselling Helping couples resolve marital issues such as communication, finances, role conflicts and fidelity. Family counselling Supporting family members (parents & children, siblings) facing issues such as strained relationships, misunderstandings or behavioural problems. Pre-marital counselling Helping couples preparing for marriage to understand marital responsibilities and roles. Teen and individual counselling Providing a space for teens and individuals to share life challenges, emotional stress, self-identity and mental health issues. Skills Enhancement Course for Caregivers Organiser: Malaysian Social Institute (ISM) Target groups: Caregivers of senior citizens, persons with disabilities (OKUs), children and bedridden, chronic patients Family members, volunteers or individuals who wish to become trained caregivers Programme objectives: Provide exposure to basic caregiving skills and knowledge for the elderly, OKUs, children and bedridden, chronic patients Provide understanding and knowledge about health, nutrition, and communication needs with the elderly, OKUs, children and bedridden, chronic patients Acquire skills in management and caregiving Develop skills in activities, rehabilitation and progress for elderly, OKUs, children and bedridden, chronic patients Course duration: 28 hours
The Senior Citizens Activity Centre (PAWE) is a place where senior citizens carry out daily activities within the community. It is a social outreach and developmental service for senior citizens involving strategic collaboration between the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development (KPWKM), other government agencies, and NGOs. Examples of activities offered: Aerobics, Tai Chi, yoga ICT classes, handicrafts, cooking, and sewing Health and religious talks Educational visits and community service Social support and outreach programmes Who can join? Senior citizens aged 60 and above Healthy and able to move independently Reside near PAWE centres Family members, volunteers, NGOs, and the community may also be involved as activity contributors
