For Malaysian citizen children under the age of 18 who are travelling abroad without being accompanied by their parents or guardians, several documents are required before they are permitted to depart overseas. A valid passport with at least six months’ validity Identification card (MyKid) Copy of birth certificate Copy of the parent’s identity card and a letter of consent For parents who are divorced or undergoing court proceedings: A valid written consent from either the mother or father is required The Immigration Department of Malaysia shall not be held responsible for any court restrictions that have not been disclosed by the parents.
