The Self-Employment Social Security Scheme (Lindung Kendiri) is implemented by PERKESO to extend social security protection to self-employed individuals.
This scheme was introduced in line with the Government’s efforts to protect workers in the informal sector and gig economy.
Eligible Groups Include:
- Taxi and e-hailing drivers
- Gig workers (e.g. food delivery riders)
- Farmers, fishermen, smallholders, and hawkers
- Artistes, performers, freelance creatives
- Freelancers or self-employed individuals who are registered
Among the benefits of this scheme include Medical Benefits, Disability Benefits and Dependent Benefits.
