Here is the general process to obtain a motorcycle or motorcar license (Class B2/B or D/DA):
1. Register with an Accredited Driving Institute
- Choose a driving institute registered with JPJ.
- Attend the theoretical course under the Driving Education Curriculum (KPP01).
2. Sit and pass the Road Traffic Law Test Part 1
3. Receive a Learner’s Driving License (LDL)
- Issued after passing the theoretical test (Part 1).
- Valid for practical driving training.
4. Undergo practical driving training on circuit and public roads
- Circuit training (6 hours) and road training (10 hours) according to JPJ’s curriculum.
- Must complete the minimum training hours required.
5. Sit for the Driving Test
- Conducted by JPJ examiners.
- Divided into two parts:
- Circuit test
- Road test
6. Receive a Probationary Driving License (PDL)
- Issued after passing the Practical Test Parts 2 & 3.
- Valid for 2 years.
- Will be revoked if KEJARA demerit points exceed 20.

7. Receive a Competent Driving License (CDL)
- After holding a PDL for 2 years, the holder must convert it to CDL within 1 year.
- The license will be revoked if suspended 3 times under the demerit system within 5 years.
