The following is the registration procedure for Persons with Disabilities (OKUs) in Malaysia:
New Registration:
Eligibility requirements
Malaysian citizens
Certified by a government medical expert to have a permanent physical, mental, learning, hearing, speech, vision or various disabilities.
Documents required:
Application Form for Registration of the Disabled (BPPOKU) (Amendment 2/2019)
A verification report certified by a medical specialist at a government or private hospital/ clinic
A copy of MyKad (adult) or birth certificate (for applicants under 12 years old)
How to apply
There are two ways to register:
Manually
Submission of BPPOKU documents (Amendment 2/2019) at the JKM counter for the registration process
Online via MyDaftar OKU
OKU Card
Applicants will receive an OKU Card indicating their disability category.
This card can be used to obtain facilities and privileges specific to OKUs.
