The Department of Social Welfare (JKM) offers community volunteer programmes to encourage public participation in welfare activities and social assistance for those in need.
Volunteer activity categories:
- Social support services and counselling guidance
- Rehabilitation and healthcare services, as well as moral and academic education
- Religious, sports, cultural, and arts programmes
- Job placement assistance
- Disaster management
- Home Help Services Programme (KBDR)
General requirements to become a JKM volunteer:
- Malaysian citizen aged 18 years and above
- Willing, interested, and committed to volunteering in welfare services for the department’s clients
- Physically and mentally fit
- No criminal record
