What is JPJeBid? JPJeBid is JPJ’s online bidding system that allows the public to bid for preferred registration numbers transparently. Eligibility: Malaysian citizens aged 18 and above Must have a JPJeBid account (registration required) Companies must provide SSM number Sufficient funds for bidding If You Win the Bid: Approval notice within 24 hours Number plate can: Be registered directly to a new vehicle Be reserved for 12 months Important: Deposit refunded if unsuccessful (within 14–30 days) One plate number can only be won by one individual/company Refer to the terms and conditions contained in the JPJeBid application You can also bid on vehicle plate numbers via the MySIKAP portal or the JPJeBid Mobile application.
Buying and selling vehicles in Malaysia involves compliance with JPJ regulations. Transactions can be done via authorized dealers, individuals, or registered used car companies. Types of Transactions: New vehicles Bought directly from authorized dealers. Used vehicles Bought from individuals or used car dealers (dealers usually manage the process with a fee). Process of Used Vehicle Transaction (Individual to Individual): Check Vehicle Status Ensure no pending summons, restrictions, or unsettled loans Check via MyJPJ or MyEG or APAD Have your vehicle inspected at PUSPAKOM or an accredited Motor Vehicle Inspection Service (PPKM) center. Compulsory PUSPAKOM/PPKM inspection for ownership transfer Payment & Sales Agreement Issue payment receipt and IC copies of both parties for safety Ownership Transfer at JPJ Both parties must appear for biometric thumbprint verification within 7 days Panduan Tukar Hakmilik Secara Sukarela Panduan Tukar Hakmilik Selain Sukarela Renew Road Tax (if expired) Buyer can immediately renew insurance & road tax Important: Must not be blacklisted by JPJ or PDRM If original owner is deceased, estate administration process (Amanah Raya, etc.) must be followed
