Federal Government

The administrative structure of the Federal Government in Malaysia is responsible for administering the entire country covering various areas such as security, finance, education, health and foreign relations.
It is led by the Federal Cabinet headed by the Prime Minister, and assisted by ministries, departments and implementing agencies under it.
Government bodies consisting of:
- Bodies established under the authority of the Federal or State Constitution
- Contoh: Majlis-majlis, Suruhanjaya-suruhanjaya dan Jabatan Audit Negara.
- Contoh: Majlis-majlis, Suruhanjaya-suruhanjaya dan Jabatan Audit Negara.
- Bodies established by government authorities and administrators
- Contoh: Jabatan-jabatan, Perbadanan Awam, Majlis-majlis dan Jawatankuasa-jawatankuasa.
B) Politicians who lead the public machinery and public office:
- Cabinet
- The highest executive body is chaired by the Prime Minister.
- It is composed of ministers who head specific ministries.
- Council
- Example: Conference of Rulers, National Economic Action Council, etc.
- Plays a role in coordinating certain administrative matters.
- Ministry
- The main government body that organizes, formulates policies and coordinates the implementation of government programs.

- Commission
- Established to independently perform specific functions.
- Examples: Election Commission, Civil Service Commission. Suruhanjaya Pilihan Raya, Suruhanjaya Perkhidmatan Awam.
- Department
- The second highest level implementing agency after the ministry.
- Implements government policies directly to the community.
- Public Corporation
- Has its own administrative machinery in each state.
- Administration is usually at the local or district level.
- The structure is the same throughout the Peninsular, slightly different in Sabah & Sarawak.
