The Assistance for Bedridden OKU/ Chronically Ill Patients (BPT) is a monthly financial assistance provided by the Department of Social Welfare (JKM) to caregivers of persons with disabilities (OKU) or elderly individuals who are bedridden, unable to care for themselves, and require full-time care.
This assistance serves as recognition of the caregiver’s responsibility in caring for bedridden OKU at home and aims to help cover basic caregiving and daily living expenses.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Malaysian citizen and resident of Malaysia
- Applicant categories:
- Caregiver of bedridden OKU/ chronically ill patient; or
- Chronically ill patient (non-bedridden) who requires continuous treatment for at least 3 months; or
- Bedridden OKU/ patient with no caregiver, or caregiver is a non-Malaysian – assistance will be given under the patient’s name
- Household monthly income not exceeding RM5,000
Assistance Rate:
- RM500 per month
- Paid to the verified caregiver confirmed by JKM
