The Supportive Devices/ Prosthetics Aid (BAT) is financial aid provided by the Social Welfare Department (JKM) to individuals from low-income groups who require prosthetics or supportive devices, as recommended by medical officers (government/ private) or JKM officers, depending on the type of disability.
Types of Supportive/ Prosthetic Devices for OKU:
- Manual/ Electric Wheelchair – for physically disabled OKU unable to walk
- White Cane & Braille Machine – for visually impaired OKU
- Prosthetic Limbs (arms/ legs) – replacement for lost body parts
- Hearing Aids – for hearing-impaired OKU
The Social Welfare Department (JKM) provides prosthetic/supportive device assistance to the disabled at rates according to the actual prices that have been set.
Conditions:
- Malaysian citizen and resident of Malaysia
- Must be a JKM target group
- Household income not exceeding the Poverty Line Income (PGK) (per household or per capita)
- Recommended by a government/ private medical officer or JKM officer based on disability type
- Other urgent/ deserving cases may be considered with approval from KPKM
