There are two categories of armed forces veterans:
- Veterans with Pension
Members of the Armed Forces (ATM) who retire based on the period of service as follows:
- Officers: Permanent Commissioned Officers who have served at least 20 years or more and are eligible to receive a service pension
- Soldiers/Other Ranks: Have served at least 21 years or more and are eligible to receive a service pension
- Veterans without Pension
- Officers: Short Service Commissioned Officers
- Soldiers/Other Ranks: Soldiers who have served less than 21 years
