PERMATA Program
PERMATA Kurnia is an early intervention centre established to provide education and support to children with autism in Malaysia. This programme is part of the PERMATA initiative under the supervision of the Ministry of Education Malaysia (MOE). Admission Requirements: Open to children with autism aged 2 to 6 years who hold an OKU (Persons with Disabilities) card Malaysian citizen Must undergo screening and assessment by the PERMATA Kurnia Medical Expert Panel to ensure suitability for the programme Parents must agree to comply with PERMATA Kurnia regulations Locations of PERMATA Kurnia: PERMATA Kurnia in Sentul, Kuala Lumpur is the main intervention centre for autism in Malaysia PERMATA Kurnia in Precinct 11 Putrajaya is known as the Early Childhood Education Centre (Integration) PERMATA. It offers two programmes: PERMATA Kurnia and PERMATA Negara.
The PERMATA Negara Programme was introduced in 2007 to provide quality care and education for children aged 0 to 4 years. It focuses on the care, education and holistic development of children in childcare centres. The programme is implemented through the Pusat Anak PERMATA Negara (PAPN) , which has been established nationwide. PAPN provides a conducive environment with facilities suited for early childhood development. Admission Requirements: Malaysian citizen Aged 4 years and below Priority for parents with household income of RM4,000 and below The applied PAPN must be within 10 km from applicant’s home or workplace
The PERMATA Pintar Programme is an initiative established to identify and develop the potential of gifted and talented students in Malaysia. Operating Location: National PERMATA Pintar Centre, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) Student Selection Process: Interested students must go through several screening stages: UKM1 Test Open to all Malaysian students aged 9 to 15 UKM2 Test Students who pass UKM1 are invited to sit for this test at designated centres School Holiday Enrichment Programme (PPCS) Students who succeed in UKM2 will join this programme, where they will be assessed through the UKM3 test Admission to Kolej PERMATA Pintar Students who pass UKM3 and perform well during PPCS will be offered a place at Kolej PERMATA Pintar to continue their secondary education
The PERMATA Insan Programme is an educational initiative established to identify and nurture gifted and talented Muslim students in Malaysia. Operating Location: Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) College Admission Requirements: Muslim students Aged 11–12 years Pass UKM1 and UKM2 tests, be a Basic Student Candidate 1, and pass all components of the Mukahyyam Al-Abrar test
The PERMATA Seni Programme was established to identify and guide schoolchildren with talents in arts in Malaysia. Main Components of PERMATA Seni: PERMATA Seni Choir For children aged 7 to 10 years with vocal talent. Training includes vocal techniques, harmony and choir performance. PERMATA Seni Dance For children aged 7 to 10 years with exceptional talent in traditional and contemporary dance. Emphasis on dance techniques, expression and stage performance. PERMATA Seni Music For children aged 7 to 17 years with musical talent. Training in playing string instruments such as viola, cello, and double bass. Must have the ability to read musical notes and pass an audition. The PERMATA Seni Programme is supervised by the Department of National Culture and Arts (JKKN). Interested students must go through an audition process.
