Foster Child Assistance (BAP) is given to parents/guardians with foster children.
- To support underprivileged, orphaned, or abandoned children to remain with foster families
- To ease the burden of foster families willing to care for foster children as their own
- To encourage society to foster disadvantaged children
Rates:
RM250/month per child
Maximum RM500/month per family fostering 2 or more children
Eligibility:
- Malaysian citizens residing in Malaysia
- Families caring for children under 18 who have no parents, are not adopted, and live with foster families under:
- JKM Foster Child Program
- Court Order under the Child Act 2001
- Relatives/extended families with legal eligibility
- Children live with foster families as follows:
- Children taken from the Foster Child Program operated by JKM; or
- Children who are cared for under a Court Order for Children (MBKK) in accordance with the Children Act 2001; or
- Children who are Malaysian citizens and are cared for by heirs or foster families who are related and qualified
- Children living in Voluntary Welfare Organizations (PSK) which provide services and facilities free of charge are not eligible.
