eKasih is Malaysia’s National Poverty Database System, developed by the Implementation Coordination Unit (ICU), Prime Minister’s Department (ICU JPM) to support the planning, implementation, and monitoring of poverty-related programs across the country.
Main Functions of eKasih
- National Poverty Database
Stores information on low-income individuals and households, including those classified as poor and extremely poor
- Reference for Aid Distribution Agencies
Used by various ministries and government agencies to identify and channel assistance to eligible recipients
What is a Head of Household (KIR)?
A Head of Household (Ketua Isi Rumah - KIR) is an individual within a household who is responsible for the other household members residing at the same address.
Who is Eligible?
Applicants must:
- Have a household income below the current Poverty Line Income (PLI) threshold
- Be a Malaysian citizen serving as the Head of Household (KIR)
If you or your family meet the eligibility requirements, you may register through either of the following methods:
- Visit the ICU JPM State Office or the District Office for registration.
OR
- Register through:
- Local Community Leaders
- Village Development and Security Committee (JPKK)
- Residents’ Representative Council (MPP)
