The Rahmah Basic Contribution (SARA) is a government initiative to help the poor and extremely poor obtain basic necessities.
It is an extension of STR and is implemented in collaboration with Yayasan MyKasih using a cashless system via MyKad.
Eligible Recipients:
- SARA Bulanan (Monthly SARA) consisting of the extremely poor/poor (STR recipients with exisiting eKasih record) AND other than the extremely poor/poor (STR recipients)
- SARA Untuk Semua (SARA For All) (all Malaysians 18 years and above)
Assistance Amount:

Implementation Method:
- Aid credited to recipients’ MyKad
- Recipients scan MyKad at participating grocery stores/supermarkets
- Examples of Basic Goods Covered:
- Bread, eggs, cooking oil, flour, biscuits, instant noodles, canned food, condiments
- Personal hygiene products, household cleaning products
- Medicines
- School supplies
