The MADANI Medical Scheme is an initiative by the Government of Malaysia through the Ministry of Health (MOH) to support the healthcare needs of the B40 group by providing treatment for minor illnesses. 10 districts with panel clinics registered under the MADANI Medical Scheme: W.P Kuala Lumpur Gombak, Selangor Hulu Langat, Selangor Petaling, Selangor Klang, Selangor Johor Bahru, Johor Kinta, Perak Timur Laut, Pulau Pinang Kota Kinabalu, Sabah Kuching, Sarawak Eligibility for MADANI Medical Scheme STR (Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah) recipients: households, senior citizens (without partner), and singles Eligibility is automatic Beneficiaries must declare that they are not receiving similar benefits from other government agencies Treatment covered under the scheme: Fever and flu Diarrhea and vomiting Sprains Headaches Minor trauma such as small wounds, etc. Benefits amount: Household: RM250 Senior citizen without partner: RM125 Single: RM75
PEKA B40 (Healthcare Scheme for the B40 Group) is an initiative by the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) to improve healthcare access for the low-income B40 group, especially in early detection of non-communicable diseases (NCD). Eligibility: Malaysian citizens Aged 40 years and above STR (Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah) recipients or their spouses Procedure to access PeKa B40 benefits Step 1 :Check eligibility. Step 2 : If eligible , visit the nearest PeKa B40 Clinic Clinics with the PeKa B40 logo sticker Bring MyKad for verification Clinic search: Step 3 :H ealth screening will be conducted during the first clinic visit Step 4 : Second visit to review lab results with a doctor. Follow-up actions include referral to MOH facility or KKM Healthy Living Programme Benefits of PeKa B40 Scheme [accordion] Benefit 1: Free health screening Free health screening at private clinics registered with PeKa B40 which includes: Health history taking including health risk factors Mental health screening Physical examination Clinical breast examination for female recipients, and clinical prostate examination for male recipients at risk Blood tests and urine tests Benefit 2: Medical equipment assistance up to RM20,000 This benefit involves medical equipment assistance that is not subsidized by the MOH hospital. Among the medical aids include: Heart stents Hearing aids Pacemakers Prostheses Wheelchairs A health screening (Benefit 1) must be done first to obtain this benefit. Benefit 3: RM1,000 incentive for completing cancer treatment This incentive is given to cancer patients from the B40 group and is broken down into two payments: RM300 paid after recipient starts cancer treatment RM700 paid after completing cancer treatment Patients must complete a health screening (Benefit 1) first and eligibility for Benefit 3 must be confirmed by a MOH doctor or medical specialist. Benefit 4: Incentive transport fare Only recipients of Benefit 2 (medical equipment assistance) or/and Benefit 3 (incentive to complete cancer treatment) will receive the benefit of this transportation fare. Maximum amount of assistance that can be received: RM500 for Peninsular Malaysia RM1,000 for Sabah/ Sarawak/ Labuan The amount of additional incentive is subject to the distance between the hospital and the recipient's home and at a set rate.
The Assistance for Bedridden OKU/ Chronically Ill Patients (BPT) is a monthly financial assistance provided by the Department of Social Welfare (JKM) to caregivers of persons with disabilities (OKU) or elderly individuals who are bedridden, unable to care for themselves, and require full-time care. This assistance serves as recognition of the caregiver’s responsibility in caring for bedridden OKU at home and aims to help cover basic caregiving and daily living expenses. Eligibility Criteria: Malaysian citizen and resident of Malaysia Applicant categories: Caregiver of bedridden OKU/ chronically ill patient; or Chronically ill patient (non-bedridden) who requires continuous treatment for at least 3 months; or Bedridden OKU/ patient with no caregiver, or caregiver is a non-Malaysian – assistance will be given under the patient’s name Household monthly income not exceeding RM5,000 Assistance Rate: RM500 per month Paid to the verified caregiver confirmed by JKM
The Supportive Devices/ Prosthetics Aid (BAT) is financial aid provided by the Social Welfare Department (JKM) to individuals from low-income groups who require prosthetics or supportive devices, as recommended by medical officers (government/ private) or JKM officers, depending on the type of disability. Types of Supportive/ Prosthetic Devices for OKU: Manual/ Electric Wheelchair – for physically disabled OKU unable to walk White Cane & Braille Machine – for visually impaired OKU Prosthetic Limbs (arms/ legs) – replacement for lost body parts Hearing Aids – for hearing-impaired OKU The Social Welfare Department (JKM) provides prosthetic/supportive device assistance to the disabled at rates according to the actual prices that have been set. Conditions: Malaysian citizen and resident of Malaysia Must be a JKM target group Household income not exceeding the Poverty Line Income (PGK) (per household or per capita) Recommended by a government/ private medical officer or JKM officer based on disability type Other urgent/ deserving cases may be considered with approval from KPKM Provided according to the actual price set for the supportive device
