Job Aid
The Employment Insurance Scheme (EIS) is a social security scheme established by the Social Security Organisation (PERKESO) under the Employment Insurance System Act 2017 . Its purpose is to assist workers who lose their jobs by providing temporary financial assistance and support for re-employment. Eligible Causes of Job Loss Normal termination of employment Voluntary Separation Scheme (VSS) / Mutual Separation Scheme (MSS) Closure of workplace due to natural disaster Business closure or cessation of operations Constructive dismissal Ineligible Causes of Job Loss Termination due to employee misconduct Voluntary resignation Mandatory retirement Types of EIS Benefits Job Search Allowance (EMP) Eligible recipients receive an allowance for 3–6 months . Reduced Income Allowance (EPB) Income replacement for individuals with more than one employer who lost one or more jobs. Early Re-Employment Allowance (EBSA) A 25% incentive for employees who return to work earlier during their EMP period. Training Allowance (EL) A daily allowance of RM10–RM20 for retraining. Training Fee (FL) Training fee coverage paid directly to training providers, up to a maximum of RM4,000 .
The Cash Assistance for Disabled Persons Unable to Work (BTB) is a monthly financial aid provided to Persons with Disabilities (OKUs) who are unable to work full-time due to permanent physical or mental disabilities. Eligibility Criteria: Malaysian citizen Aged 16–59 years Registered as a PWD with the Department of Social Welfare (JKM) Unable to work full-time and confirmed through JKM interview/assessment Household income not exceeding the current Poverty Line Income (PGK) Not residing in institutions managed by JKM Assistance Rate: RM300 per month Paid monthly to the PWD recipient
The Allowance for Working Disabled Persons (EPOKU) is a form of monthly financial aid provided by JKM to OKUs who are employed. Eligibility Criteria: Malaysian citizen Aged 16 years and above Registered as a PWD with JKM Permanently employed or self-employed, earning not more than RM1,500 per month Not residing in JKM institutions/care centers Assistance Rate: RM450 per month
Bengkel Daya is an institution under KPWKM that provides skills training and enhances job opportunities for OKUs who are unable to compete in the open market. Locations of Bengkel Daya: Bengkel Daya Klang, Selangor Bengkel Daya Sungai Petani, Kedah Job opportunities in Work Units (Industrial Workshops) for OKU employees: Sewing Embroidery Bread & pastry making Laundry Retail Restaurant services Admission Requirements: Malaysian citizen Registered OKU with JKM Category: Learning disability (moderate) or physical disability Aged 18–45 years Able to live independently Free from infectious diseases
The Industrial Training and Rehabilitation Centre (PLPP) was established to provide vocational training and medical rehabilitation to OKUs, especially those with physical disabilities. Courses Offered: Office Management Course (SKM Level 2) Electrical Installation Course Prosthetics and Orthotics Course Metal Fabrication Course (Wheelchair Production) Fine Arts Course Batik Technology Course Admission Requirements: Registered PWD (physical) with JKM Aged 18–40 years SPM qualification or at least able to read, write, and count Able to manage self-care Free from drug influence
The Job Coach program was developed to encourage and support PWDs in the open job market. It is introduced by JKM to empower PWDs economically and socially through structured job placement. Eligible: All categories of OKUs Who is a Job Coach?
