Categories of OKU tax relief include: OKU Individual If the taxpayer is a registered OKU Relief : Additional RM6,000 OKU Spouse If the spouse is a OKU and unemployed Relief : Additional RM5,000 OKU Child (under 18 years) Relief : RM6,000 OKU Child (in higher education, 18 years and above, unmarried) Relief : Additional RM8,000 Basic supporting equipment for OKUs Purchase of assistive devices (wheelchair, hearing aids, etc.) for self/spouse/child or parents Relief : RM6,000 Treatment for children with learning disabilities Includes: Diagnostic assessments for learning disabilities Early intervention programs Rehabilitation treatments Relief : Up to RM4,000 (capped) Ensure you keep purchase receipts and always check the latest annual tax relief list.

Accessible public transport in Malaysia is provided to ensure safe, convenient, and inclusive mobility for Persons with Disabilities (OKU). These facilities cover buses, trains, and special services suitable for wheelchair users, as well as those with visual, hearing, and other special needs. Among the facilities provided include: MRT, LRT, Monorel – RapidKL Free fares for OKU under the OKU Smile Programme KTM Komuter 50% discount on fares for OKU Card holders. For now, this discount facility can only be obtained through purchases at the counter. RapidKL and GoKL Buses (Federal Territory) Users of Prasarana services may use the OKU Smile Card Low-floor buses suitable for wheelchair users Designated wheelchair spaces available on board
The Road Transport Department (JPJ) provides several special facilities for Persons with Disabilities (OKU) to encourage independence and mobility. Facilities offered to OKU include: Reduced driving licence fees (Class A/A1) Registered OKU (with JKM OKU Card) may apply for nominal fees when obtaining a driving licence. Vehicle Categories: A : Motorcycle for OKU A1 : Car for OKU This includes: Learner’s Driving Licence (LDL) Probationary Driving Licence (PDL) Competent Driving Licence (CDL) Application for Vehicle Stickers for Persons with Physical Disabilities (OKU) Eligibility requirements: Physically disabled (wheelchair user) Must be driving the vehicle Owns a modified vehicle that has been registered as a Disabled Person’s Vehicle Road Tax Exemption for OKU Vehicles Registered Persons with Disabilities (OKU) may apply for a 100% road tax exemption for one vehicle registered under their own name, or under their parents’/guardian’s name (if the OKU is underage). Exemption is limited to one vehicle at a time: 1 motorcar 1 motorcycle This does not include vehicles that have been modified for Persons with Disabilities and registered as Disabled Person’s Vehicle (KOC) with usage code IA.
